my baby ♥

after I moved to London for uni and for a while since I've been away from family, she was the one I missed the most. Sorry mum, sorry sisters, but seriously. There's no one like your dog who greets you as intensively when you're back from a long trip. I was away for a month in summer and when I was back, she shot up and charged towards me with her tail wagging all over the place that we joked she'd take flight.

Wanderlust - strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world.

I've been getting some of that recently. Ok, maybe a lot of that.
Wanderlust is the kind of word that is so full of magic that it almost feels exotic. Exciting.

I've been wanting to get away for quite a while now, and a trip back to Poland gave me a hint of the travelling experience that I didn't know I wanted. Even if you had wanted for something so long, if you have it, you start taking it for granted. I live in one of the most busy and exciting cities in the world and I am already bored of it. I'm bored of its busy-ness and its vast variety of things to do that I almost get scared to pick. Some will definitely hate me for this, but nonetheless that is how I feel.
I want to explore. I want to experience the world. There is so much out there to be seen, to be eaten, to be explored, to be felt. And I want to have it all.

Not to mention that travelling, especially alone, grows people. Matures them to a much more understanding and well rounded person. Surrounding ones self with unfamiliar setting and just being completely lost in it is needed for people of today in my opinion, living in such a fast paced society, one barely has time to think outside of their routine. Being creative. Contemplate on their lives; past, present and future. This is precisely what I love most about travelling - I have time all to myself. There are no responsibilities. I don't have to be somewhere at a specific time with something depending on it to forfeit if I had failed to do so. I have time all to myself, to do whatever I want, whenever I want. I can spend it as lazily as I want, or I can be as greedy and ambitious as I want and plan my trip by the minute. It's all up to me, and I am the only one who will be either let down or completely awed. Me being me, I find it very easy to be caught up with other people and let their judgement affect the way I think, being scared of disappointing them. But if I am alone, and I do things on my own, I don't have to think about what other people might think of me. I find it so liberating.

"Travel is at its most rewarding when it ceases to be about your reaching a destination and becomes indistinguishable from living your life"
- Paul Theroux, Ghost Train to the Eastern Star

Castle Plaza, Warsaw, Poland.

What a beautiful place! So full of colours, and plus the weather was amazing. I loved that place, it made me feel as if I was in a Wes Anderson movie set. An old European version.

Such a lovely city, full of history and life.
The cobbled roads that look absolutely stunning with the white horse carriages riding on them which in fact are a killer if you're wearing heels. It was a short stay but definitely a memorable one.

i think my neighbourhood deserves a sitcom because there’s

  • me, the teen blogger
  • a house with 8 nuns
  • a drug dealer who drives a hummer
  • a scottish man who only ever wears a kilt and mows his lawn at 3 am
  • an elderly couple who drive everywhere on their lawn mower
  • a peacock who has been roaming the neighbourhood for years and no one knows why or where it came from

I’d watch the shit outta that show
